Trinity Mirror Plc announces the appointment of Richard (Ric) Piper as Group Finance Director. He succeeds Margaret Ewing who leaves the group at the end of June to join BAA.
Mr. Piper is currently Group Finance Director at W S Atkins Plc, a position he has held since 1993. A Chartered Accountant, his previous companies have included ICI, Citicorp and Logica. He is a non-executive director of Synstar plc and a member of the Urgent Issue Task Force of the Accounting Standards Board. He is married with two children.
Mr. Piper will join Trinity Mirror in mid September.
