The Racing Post has recorded its highest ever monthly ABC
figure.
The Trinity Mirror title's average daily sale for March was
93,531 copies, a 1.1% increase on the previous record.
This performance reflects a strong Cheltenham Festival,
continued editorial excellence, tactical promotions and competitions, and
significant improvements to the supply chain including targeted increases in
availability.
The paper's circulation team has focused on working smarter and
more closely with wholesalers and retailers, with the aim of getting copies in
the right place at the right time for readers.
The Post achieved its biggest ever daily sale on the first day
of Cheltenham, and sales for the other three days of the Festival also exceeded
the results for 2004.
The Racing Post website - RacingPost.co.uk - also enjoyed a
record-breaking month with a staggering 73,256,421 page impressions.
This was the highest monthly figure in the site's history and a
96% increase on March 2004.
Patrick Taylor, Commercial Director of Trinity Mirror's Sports
division, said: "The Racing Post is the UK's leading media brand in racing,
sports betting and gaming and these results underline that.
"Both the paper and website continue to go from strength to
strength as readers are drawn by top-class editorial and advertisers tap into
this expanding and highly attractive audience."
Chris Smith, Editor of the Racing Post, said: "This just goes to
show how popular top-class horseracing is these days.
"These figures are a fantastic testament to the continuing
enhancements we're making to the paper and to the effort and commitment the
staff are putting in day-in day-out."
