JobsWales.co.uk has been named Best Niche Internet Site at the
Newspaper Society's Advertising and Digital Media Awards.
The prestigious awards are designed to showcase the best
advertising and digital media initiatives from the regional industry and provide
well-deserved recognition.
JobsWales is one of a network of local recruitment websites
rolled out across the UK by Trinity Mirror earlier this year as part of the
Group's growth strategy for digital media.
New sites were also launched covering Merseyside, Cheshire, the
South East, North East and Midlands, as well as a public jobs site for the North
West. The sites built on two successful launches in Scotland and Wales last
year.
The new launches deepen Trinity Mirror's presence in core local
markets across the UK and complement its national strength in online recruitment
through its involvement in Fish4.co.uk.
The local sites offer jobseekers a high-quality job hunting
service, incorporating personalisation and search functionality, designed to
deliver a quick and precise job search.
Special features include daily email alerts to job-seekers, a CV
matching service, featured employer profiles and job-related local news to
enable candidates to stay in touch with local opportunities.
As well as the ability to promote their brands locally, the
sites offer recruiters user-friendly management tools.
Kristian Welch, Digital Development Manager at the Western Mail
& Echo, said: "We've been working hard to improve our recruitment portfolio
and ensure that we keep up with an ever-changing jobs marketplace.
"JobsWales has been a great success since it launched earlier
this year, and has allowed us to offer our customers a completely new platform
that complements our print brands. We are pleased with the reaction from the
marketplace and look forward to JobsWales going from strength to
strength."
David Black, Trinity Mirror's Director of Digital Media,
Regionals, said: "This award recognises the strength of our local proposition to
consumers and advertisers.
"We can offer an unbeatable combination of the leading print
titles, the leading UK site in fish4jobs, plus the leading job sites
locally."
