Richard Webb has been appointed Managing Director of MGN
Ltd.
Richard, 46, will be responsible for the commercial functions of
the Group's UK national titles, Daily Mirror, Sunday Mirror and The
People.
His responsibilities encompass advertising, marketing,
circulation, strategic planning, business enterprises, digital and pre-press
operations. He will report directly to Sly Bailey, Chief Executive of Trinity
Mirror plc.
Richard has a long association with media and national
newspapers in particular. He was previously General Manager at News
International, responsible for the commercial departments of the Sun and the
News of the World, a position he held for five years. Prior to that he was
Advertising Director of The Sun and News of the World from 1995 to
2000.
Prior to this Richard was the Deputy Managing Director of Optimedia UK Ltd, the media planning and buying company. Until recently Richard was Chairman of the Newspaper Marketing Agency and a Director of the National Readership Survey. He is a student of Insead's advanced management programme.
