Trinity Mirror plc announces today the appointment of Lloyd Embley as Editor of The People with immediate effect.
Lloyd, 42, has been Acting Editor for the last six months. He was previously Assistant Editor Production on the Daily Mirror.
Lloyd Embley said: "I am absolutely delighted to be given the opportunity to lead this great newspaper at a very exciting time. We are facing the circulation challenge head on and with the plans we have in place and the considerable talents of our staff we will ensure The People continues to be a great Sunday newspaper"

Gary Jones, 46, has also been appointed as Deputy Editor, The People with immediate effect. Gary was previously Assistant Editor News on the Daily Mirror.

Night Editor Matt Clark has been promoted to the number three on the paper and becomes Assistant Editor.
