On Thursday 29 January, the people of Northumberland welcomed the launch of a brand new free weekly Trinity Mirror title. The Journal Extra has been put together by the team of journalists behind the award-winning daily newspaper, The Journal.
Every Thursday, there will be news and views from around the county bringing everything people of Northumberland need to know about where they live. As well as this, it will also feature local sport from around the county. There will also be weekly promotions and competitions exclusively for our Northumberland readers.
Brian Aitken, Editor, The Journal, said: "We are Northumberland's local paper and our new free weekly will mean that we can offer an even better service to our readers.
"We'll bring you regular articles from Berwick to Prudhoe, Bellingham to Blyth, Wooler to Allendale and we want people in the county to get involved and become community correspondents for where they live."
The Journal Extra is a free weekly title, and will be free with Northumberland copies of The Journal and will also be distributed to over 300 outlets across the county including dentists, surgeries, hotels, tourist information centres, churches and many more.
