STV's sales team and the Daily Record have joined forces to offer advertisers an innovative new cross-media package in the lead-up to St. Andrew's Day 2009.
The offer is centered around STV's upcoming, week-long series to determine the nation's Greatest Scot, which will air every night between Monday 9 November and Friday 13 November at 9pm, with the winner announced in a final half-hour programme on St. Andrews Day.
In conjunction with the series, the Daily Record will provide supporting editorial, inviting the Scottish public to vote for their Greatest Scot from 35 nominees across a number of categories, including Arts & Entertainment, Sport, Inventors & Entrepreneurs and the People's choice.
This one-stop solution is the first of its kind to be offered to advertisers looking to reach a huge audience in Scotland, and it forms part of the Homecoming Scotland series of programmes produced by STV and sponsored by the Daily Record.
The package combines a bespoke blend of TV, print and online advertising in conjunction with engaging reader offers and competitions.
The combined package will allow advertisers the opportunity to reach over 80% of all adults in Scotland and to participate in one of the most heavily promoted media events of 2009. There are a limited number of packages available, with one already signed up and several close to confirmation.
David Connolly, Commercial Director at STV, said: "This is a very exciting offering from STV and Daily Record. Both parties recognised that an editorial and commercial partnership would give the event real presence and deliver a powerful vehicle for brands looking to make an impact in Scotland in the lead up to St. Andrew's Day."
Denise West, Advertising Director for the Daily Record, added: "It's great to be able to bring something new to the marketplace. The combined strength of Scotland's leading media brands coupled with the joint planning that has gone into this will venture ensure that there is an unrivalled high profile package for advertisers to take advantage of this November."
